Think imagination, improvisation, ingenuity and innovation.

Fall Festival Reimagined highlights PDS’s philosophy of joyful learning through creative and innovative expression in art, science, music and technology. The event offers a distinct connection to PDS programs, embraces collaboration, and provides a fun and engaging venue for showcasing what it is that PDS does best. The Maker Movement, tinkering and the fine work at the Exploratorium, inspired the event concept. Though, the core values inherent in the PDS classrooms make this all a reality. Many of FFR’s interactives are sourced through classrooms and the After Enrichment Program allowing students and faculty to showcase the nature of their remarkable work here at PDS.

Some key elements include:

Imagination and Play:A vast hands-on art, technology and science PlayLab including – a Rube Goldberg marble wall, large collaborative art and design table with manufacturing remnants and found objects, a workshop-produced pinball machine, Zen Garden, Giant Pick Up Sticks, a building area with Bloxes, Giant Eames House of Cards and wooden materials, Toy Take Apart, wind tube, scribble machines, a bounce house and more!

Improvisation:
Bard’s Contemporaneous, PDS’s “Stomp,” Spandex movement Blobs, Karaoke Lounge and other musical improv, , as well as games sponsored by the Wayfinder Experience.

Design and Ingenuity:
Canstruction Design Competition Sneak Peak, “Rock Thoughts” monsters art/storytelling activity, Collaborative silk painting, Henna, Hair Innovation Salon, Mid-Hudson Chinese Community Association activities and Mid-Hudson Japanese Community Association activities.

Collaborative Innovation:
PDS Think Tank – a participatory experience relating to imagination, PDS StoryCorpsBooth – everyone has a story, record yours, iPad Portraits and the chance to make a Virtual Pollock.

Nourishment:
Twisted Soul and Smart Café
