The James Earl Jones Theater was alive with the sound of laughter (and music)!
This year's musical brought together classroom curriculum throughout the lower school, drawing on Greek mythology and using the 12 Olympian Gods (plus Hades) as a springboard for three fun and engaging stories. 128 children ages 3-11 have worked for over 3 months creating original characters, fine-tuning lines, building props, and with the help of many parent volunteers, we were happy to see the play finally come to fruition. The production, directed by drama teacher Dorothy Penz, was filled with brightly colored costumes, wonderful original music and popular songs under the direction of Bill Fiore, and a thought-provoking, entertaining script. See a collage of photos below!
There will be an encore performance especially for grandparents on Friday, May 13 beginning at 11:00 am. At this time, the play will also be streamed live at the following URL: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/may-2011-ls-play
