Students have an amazing opportunity to learn instrumental music and voice from top-notch instructors through the PDS adjunct music program. The Poughkeepsie Day School adjunct music program was spearheaded roughly 25 years ago by music teacher Laura Weinge. In a quarter of a century, this dynamic program has grown along with the school while staying in sync with the musical interests of students. PDS is a member of both NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) and MENC (National Association for Music Education). NYSSMA membership enables students to participate in New York State ensembles and competitions, as well as the association’s yearly adjudication festival.
