Faculty and StaffTeachers at Poughkeepsie Day School are diverse, multi-talented and highly qualified. They are recruited nationally and selected on the basis of demonstrated expertise and alignment with the school's mission.
The current teaching faculty represents over 400 years of teaching experience. Teachers are supported as lifelong learners by professional development beyond the campus, and by a school community dedicated to growth and improvement. They regularly participate in, and often lead, professional development workshops on local, state and national levels.
The faculty plays a vital role in the lives of students. They model commitment to lifelong learning, intellectual development and ethical conduct. They foster positive, caring relationships to help students develop key life skills of collaboration, compassion and conflict resolution. Lower school home rooms and middle and high school advisory groups provide the support and attention students need to grow as unique learners and community members who know themselves and appreciate others.
