PDS is grateful for the enormous generosity of an anonymous donor, who is committed to the school's efforts to increase diversity within our community.

In 2003-2004, this donor gave PDS $25,000 as an additional source of funding for need-based financial aid to students of color. Specifically, this grant allowed the school to award qualified families up to 90% of what the PDS Financial Aid Committee deemed to be their need, a significant increase above the 50% of demonstrated-need cap that PDS, with its limited funds, has been able to award in the past.

The following year, this same donor offered the school $25,000 once again for this worthy cause if PDS could, in turn, raise a matching $25,000. The school was successful in this endeavor and realized an additional $50,000 for need-based aid by meeting this Diversity Challenge.

In 2005-2006 and again in 2006-2007, the Diversity Challenge was again successfully met. We will kick off our fourth challenge drive in the fall of 2007. Thank you to everyone who has supported this important initiative. Want to make a gift? Click here (PDF).
