Grades 7 –12
Poughkeepsie Day School has an opening for ann experienced history/humanities teacher for grades 7–12.
Topics covered in this reading and writing intensive program include Concentration in American History, Modern European History, Pre-Modern Civilizations and Modern Human Geography and Culture.
The position requires extensive knowledge of geography, geopolitics, philosophy and sociology. Candidates must be able to offer a wide range of elective courses, including interdisciplinary, collaborative and topical courses.
The position includes serving as a student advisor and support of student clubs and activities.
Strong communication skills in oral and written communication with parents; advanced skills in use of technology; familiarity with seminar style classroom.
Masters degree preferred. Extensive academic background in history required.
