Desktop 3D printing is the next generation’s desktop publishing, giving everyone access to rapid prototyping and customizable products.
Literacy in basic 3D modeling and manufacturing is an essential skill for future STEM success in our country.
This course uses a do-it-yourself approach, with student-centered interactive learning that encourages participants to develop their own ways of knowing and doing. Assignments are hands-on and creative, including the design of personalized 3D models. A major focus is showing students that they don’t have to be “taught” to “learn” ‒ they can be “makers” rather than “consumers” of knowledge.
