Student Life > Student Activities > Scottish Dancers (again) a hit!

The Caledonian Scottish Country Dancers recently performed to a sold-out audience of 250 people at the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls. They helped celebrate the Dutchess County Scottish Society’s annual Robert Burns Supper on January 28, which commemorates the beloved Scottish poet’s life and work. The dancers are students at grades 5-11 who chose Scottish Dancing as their Wednesday elective course during the school's fall 2005 semester. Says PDS middle school faculty member Shirley Rinaldi, who teaches and advises the group and is, herself, a native of Scotland, "they have practiced since September and their hard work paid off with a polished and entertaining performance." This is the fifth consecutive year that the dance group has been asked to perform at this function. They also danced at Celtic Day in the Park at Mills Mansion in September. Congrats!
