For more than twenty years, the PDS original musical has been a collaborative
enterprise. Based each year on a work of Shakespeare and satirizing modern life,
the musical blends political and literary references with pop culture as we
know it. This year's offering, Such Sweet Sorrow (with a nod to
Romeo and Juliet), premiered on Thursday, May 1and ran on Friday and
Saturday, May 2 and 3 in the James Earl Jones Theater. The play was written
in a central study course by students and performed by 7th through twelfth graders,
with 19 of the 33 members of the Class of 2008 participating! Below
is a sampling of the play's highlights.
