Welcome to the high school!
It has been my distinct honor and pleasure to be a member of the
PDS family for almost 30 years. I began my tenure here as a lower
school teacher and all three of my three children attended and graduated
from PDS.
At PDS we foster students' serious intellectual inquiry within
and across disciplines. As upper school head I relish the opportunity
of ensuring that our distinctive curriculum remains fresh and exciting
so that our students are connected with the latest thinking and
ready for the unpredictability of our 21st century. To that end,
you will find in the upper school master teachers and caring advisors
who truly know their students as well as a comprehensive, college
counseling process that is second to none. And please do read
about our new, expanded curriculum for 2008-2009!
At PDS we engage young people in the life of the mind and encourage
their full development as unique individuals. Equally important
is their involvement in and commitiment to our community. Indeed,
seriousness of purpose--as well as kids loving learning and this
school as a whole--is evident in and outside of the classroom. I
invite you to come experience the energy and vitality of our program
and our people first-hand.
I hope to meet you soon!
Sincerely,
Liz Vinogradov
Upper School Head
